Area of the shaded region$=$Area of the triangle$-$Area of the rectangle.

$=\frac{1}{2}\times 20\times 8-4\times 5$

$=80-20=60$sq.m

In fig$b$

Area of $△ADE+$Area of $△BCE=$Area of parallelogram $ABCD-$Area of $△AEB$

$=20\times 15-\frac{1}{2}\times 20\times 15$

$=300-150=150$sq.m
