Find the area of the shaded portion in the following figure.

Area of shaded region = Area of $\Delta ABC$ - Area of rectangle PQRS
$\therefore$ Area of a triangle $=\frac{1}{2}\times Base\times Height$
$\therefore$ Area of $\Delta ABC=\frac{1}{2}\times AC\times BD=\frac{1}{2}\times 40\times 16m^2$
$=20\times 16=320m^2$
$\because$ Area of a rectangle $=Length\times Breadth$
$\therefore$ Area of the rectangle PQRS $=10\times 8=80m^2$
Area of shaded region $=320-80=240m^2$
