Find the area of the triangle formed by joining the mid points of the sides of the triangle
whose vertices are (0,1),(2,1) and (0,3) .

Let (x1,y1),(x2,y2) and (x3,y3) be the mid-points of ABC
x1=0+22=1,y1=1+12=0
x2=2+02=1,y2=1+32=2
x3=0+02=0,y3=312=1
Mid-points are (1,0),(1,2) and (0,1)
Area of the triangle joining the midpoints=12∣ ∣101121011∣ ∣
=12[1(21)0+1(10)]=12[10+1]=22=1sq.unit
