Using Pythagoras theorem,
we get,
$A{C}^2=A{B}^2+B{C}^2=8^2+6^2=100.\Rightarrow AC=10m$

$\therefore \text{Area of triangle ACD =}\frac{1}{2}\times AC\times CD\text{as it is a right angled triangle}$

$=\frac{1}{2}\times 10\times 10=50m^2$.
