Question

Find the Cartesian equation of the following planes:
r(2^i+3^j4^k)=1.

Open in App
Solution

Given, r(2^i+3^j4^k)=1........(1)
For any arbitrary point P(x,y,z) on the plane, position vector r is given by
r=(x^i+y^j+z^k)
Substituting the value of r in equation (1), we obtain
(x^i+y^j+z^k).(2^i+3^j4^k)=12x+3y4z=1
This is the Cartesian equation of the plane.
