Question

Find the center and radius of the circle whose equation is given by (5x)2+(y1)2=4

Open in App
Solution

An equation of the circle with center (h,k) and radius r is
(xh)2+(yk)2=r2
So, comparing (5x)2+(y1)2=4 that is (x5)2+(y1)2=4 with the above equation of circle we get:
h=5, k=1 and r=2
Therefore, center of the circle is (5,1) and radius of the circle is r=2.
