Question

Find the circumference of circle whose area is 16 times the area of the circle with diameter 1.4 m.

Open in App
Solution

Given that, area of a circle is 16 times the area of another circle with diameter 1.4 m.

To find out: Circumference of the first circle.

Now, radius of the second circle =1.42=0.7 m

We know that, area of a circle =πr2

Area of the second circle =227×0.7×0.7

1.54 m2

Then,

Area of first circle=16×1.54=24.64 m2

πr2=24.64

r2=24.64π

r2=24.64227

r2=24.64×722

r2=7.84

r=7.84

r=2.8 m

Now, Circumference of circle =2πr

=2×227×2.8

=1237

=17.6 m

Hence, the circumference of the circle is 17.6 m.
