Find the coordinates of a point A , where AB is a diameter of the circle whose centre is (2, -3) and B is (1, 4).


Solution

if AB is diameter then the centre will be the midpoint.
Let A be (x,y)
Then 
2 equals fraction numerator x plus 1 over denominator 2 end fraction 4 equals x plus 1 x equals 3

negative 3 space equals space fraction numerator 4 plus y over denominator 2 end fraction minus 6 minus 4 equals y y equals negative 10

A is (3,-10)
