Question

Find the coordinates of the centres and the radii of the circles whose equation is:
x2+y2=k(x+k)

Open in App
Solution

Given circle can be written as, x2+y2kxk2=0
Now comparing with general equation of circle, x2+y2+2gx+2fy+c=0
we get centre of the circle =(g,f)=(k2,0)
and radius =g2+f2c=k24+k2=52k
