Question

Find the coordinates of the point where the line 2x-y=3 meets both the Axes

Open in App
Solution

2x - y = 3

The point of intersection of the line with y-axis:

Put x = 0,
2(0) - y = 3
0 - y = 3
y = -3

Therefore, (0, -3) is the point of intersection of the line 2x - y = 3 with y-axis.

The point of intersection of the line with x-axis:

Put y = 0,
2x - 0 = 3
2x = 3
x = 3/2

Therefore, (3/2, 0) is the point of intersection of the line 2x - y = 3 with x-axis.
