For preparing a herbarium, the samples are first collected and identified. They are then pressed between the sheets of a book and dried.
Next they are mounted on the herbarium sheets. The specimen is glued or stitched on to the sheets and sprayed with fungicide solution to prevent any fungal growth and destruction of the specimen.
