The carpet can be arranged as stocks one over another in the room such that the length of the carpet is along the breadth of\the room.

$\Rightarrow$ no. of carpet strips needed $=\frac{\text{length of room}}{\text{breadth of carpet}}$

$=\frac{12m}{\left(0.75m\right)}$

Thus number of carpet strips needed $=8$

$\therefore$ 8 carpet strips each 8m long are required to fill

the room with carpet.

$1m$ of $1$ carpet strip costs $Rs.116.50$

$8m$ of $1$ carpet strip cost $=116.50\times 8$

cost for one carpet strip $=Rs.932$

we need $8$ such carpet strips to cover the room

$\therefore$ required cost $=8\times 932=Rs7456$

$\therefore$ The cost carpeting the room is $Rs7456$.
