Solution

Given: Diameter of a cylindrical pillar =48 cm.

Radius (r)=482=24 cm=24100 m

Height (h)=7 m

Lateral (Curved) surface area of one pillar [Painting is done on curved surface area]

=2πrh=2×227×24100×7 m2

=1056100 m2

Surface area of 15 pillars

=1056100×15 m2=15840100m2

Rate of painting =Rs .2.50 per m2

Total cost =Rs. 2.50×15840100

=Rs. 396
