Solution

The correct option is C 7
We know that,
At room temperature, CO2 has linear structure.
Degree of freedom,
f=3AB
where A= No. of independent particle
B= No. of independent restrictions
Here, A=3 (Triatomic)
As CO2 has linear structure,
B=2
(Since we can neglect the rotational degree of freedom along the bond)
So, f=3×32=7
