Here $f (x) = \frac{a}{x^{4}} - \frac{b}{x^{2}} + c o s x = a x^{- 4} - b x^{- 2} + c o s x$

$∴ f^{'} (x) = \frac{d}{d x} [a x^{- 4} - b x^{- 2} + c o s x]$

$= a \frac{d}{d x} (x^{- 4}) - b \frac{d}{d x} (x^{- 2}) + \frac{d}{d x} (c o s x))$

$= - 4 a x^{- 5} + 2 b x^{- 3} - s i n x$

$= \frac{- 4 a}{x^{5}} + \frac{2 b}{x^{3}} - s i n x$
