Question

Find the derivative of the following function:
f(x)= sin(x+a)cos x

Open in App
Solution

Here f(x)=sin(x+a)cos x

=cos x ddx[sin(x+a)]sin (x+a)ddx(cos x)cos2x

=cos x.cos(x+a)sin (x+a)(sin x)cos2x

=cos (x+ax)cos2x

[cos (AB)=cos A cos B+sin A sin B]

=cos acos2 x
