Question

Find the diameter and the circumference of the circle if its area is 6.16m2.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1 Finding the diameter of the circle:

Given the area of the circle is 6.16m2.

Area of the circle= πr2sq.units [ Where 'r' is the radius of cirlce]

Therefore,

227×r2=6.16r2=6.16×722r2=1.96mr=1.4m

We know that, diameter(d)=2×r

d=2×1.4m=2.8m

Hence, the diameter of the circle is 2.8m.

Step 2 Finding the circumference of the circle:

Circumference of the circle is 2πr [ Where 'r' is the radius of cirlce]

=2×227×1.4=2×22×0.2=8.8cm.

Hence, the circumference of the circle is 8.8cm
