Equation of parabola having axis parallel to x-axis is given by,

(yβ)2=a(xα)

differentiating on both sides, we get,

2(yβ)=dydx=a

again differentiating on both sides, we get,

2(yβ)=d2ydx2+2(dydx)2=0

eliminating β from the above equations, we get,

ad2ydx2+2(dydx)3=0

Is the required differential equation.
