The correct option is A Along positive x axis
Consider a small elemental charge +dq charge, on either side of x-axis as shown.

Electric field due to these elemental charges is as shown,
From the above figure, we can say that
y components of electric field intensity will cancel each other, and x components will be added. Hence net electric field due to given charge distribution is directed towards +x-axis.
