Find the energy in kWh consumed in 10 hours by four devices of power 500W each.

Step 1: Given Data,

Given parameters

Power rating of the device (P)=500W=0.50kW

Time for which the device runs (T)=10h

Step 2: Energy consumed by one device,

Energy consumed by an electric device can be obtained using the expression for power,
P=WT

Work done W= energy consumed by the device

Energy consumed =P×T

=0.50×10

=5kWh

Step 3: Energy consumed by four devices,

Hence, the energy consumed by four equal rating devices in 10h will be

4×5kWh=20kWh

Hence, the required energy consumption is 20kWh.
