Find the equations of the lines passing through point (-2, 0) and equally inclined to the co-ordinate axes.

Intercept form of line equation is-

$\frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{b}=\mathrm{1............}\left(1\right)$

Now, we have to find the equation which is equally inclined to the co-ordinate axes.

Hence put $a=b$ in equation (1),

$\frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{a}=1\Rightarrow \frac{x+y}{a}=1\Rightarrow x+y=a...\left(2\right)$

Put the points $(-2,0)$ we get,

$-2+0=a\Rightarrow a=-2$

Again put value of $a$ in equation (2),

$x+y=-2$

Or

$x+y+2=0$
