From the given figure,
Total number of blocks = 9
Shaded number of blocks = 7

=> Fraction of shaded region $= \frac{n u m b e r o f s h a d e d b l o c k s}{t o t a l n u m b e r o f b l o c k s}$ $= \frac{7}{9}$

Now, we have fraction,

Numerator = 7
Denominator = 9

=> Sum of numerator and denominator = 7 + 9 = 16

Hence, sum of numerator and denominator from the fraction of shaded region is 16.
