Finding the H.C.F

Numbers that have only two factors i.e., $1$ and the number itself is called a Prime Number.

Let us consider two prime numbers $5$ and $7$.

Prime Factorization of $5$ and $7$,

$$\begin{gathered} 5=1\times 5 \\ 7=1\times 7 \end{gathered}$$

We see that both the numbers have only $1$ as the common factor.

Hence, H.C.F of two Prime Numbers is always $1$.
