$a_{n} = a . r^{n - 1}$
$a_{6} = (- 12) \times (\frac{1}{3})^{6 - 1} = (\frac{1}{3})^{5}$
$∴ a_{6} = \frac{- 4 \times 3}{3^{5}} = \frac{- 4}{3^{4}}$
