The Lateral surface area of cylinder
$= 2 π r h$

$2 π \times 7 \times 18 = 792 c m^{2}$

When the height is reduced to half then using the same formula for the lateral surface area

we have

$2 π \times 7 \times 9 = 396 c m^{2}$
