Solution

Step 1: Explaining method to find LCM of given numbers:

LCM stands for Least Common Multiple which is the smallest number which is divisible be each of the given numbers.

  1. First, write the numbers, separate them by commas
  2. Now start dividing the numbers, by prime numbers.
  3. If any number is not divisible, then note down the number in next line and proceed further
  4. Continue on dividing the row of numbers by prime numbers, till we get the results as 1 in the complete row
  5. Now LCM of the numbers will be equal to the product of all the prime numbers we obtained in the division method

Step 2: Finding the LCM of given numbers:

Using above method,we get,

Find the L.C.M. of the following numbers in which one number is the factor of other: (a) 5, 20 (b) 6, 18 (c) 12, 48 (d) 9, 45 - Sarthaks eConnect | Largest Online Education Community

Hence, the required LCM is 2×3×3=18

Clearly, we can observe that 6 is the factor of 18.

Therefore, the LCM is that number whose factor is given i.e 18.
