Open in App
Solution

Find L.C.M. of smallest composite number and smallest prime number

We know that, a prime number is a number that has exactly two factors i.e.1 and itself.

So, the smallest prime number is 2.

And, a composite number has more than two factors, i.e., apart from 1 and itself, it can also be divided by at least one number.

So, the smallest composite number is 4.

By using Division method, L.C.M. of 2 and 4 is :

L.C.M =2×2=4

Hence, Least common multiple (L.C.M) of 2 and 4 is 4.
