Find the length of longest rod that can fit in a cuboid of dimensions 6cm × 3cm × 2cm .

Open in App
Solution

Given length l = 6 cm
breadth b = 3 cm
and height h = 2 cm
Longest rod that can be placed in a room is nothing but its diagonal.
Length of diagonal of a cuboid
=√(l^2 + b^2 + h^2)
Length of longest rod
= √(6^2 + 3^2 + 2^2)
= √(36 + 9 + 4)
= √49
= 7 cm
Thus the length of the longest rod is 7 cm
