Given:
fo=80 cm
fe=5 cm

Also, the final image is formed at the least distance of distinct vision.

So, ve=D=25 cm

On using lens formula for eyepiece,

1ve1ue=1fe

1(25)1ue=15

ue=4.2 cm

We know that, for this adjustment, the length of the telescope is given by,

L=fo+|ue|

L=80+4.284 cm

Hence, option (D) is the correct answer.
