Given that AO = 10 cm, BO = 8 cm

Applying Pythagoras theorem

${A B}^{2}$ = ${A O}^{2}$ – ${B O}^{2}$

${A B}^{2}$ = $10^{2}$ – $8^{2}$

${A B}^{2}$ = 100 – 64

${A B}^{2}$ = 36

AB = 6 cm

Therefore the length of the tangent is 6 cm
