Question

Find the magnitude of each of the two vectors a and b, having the same magnitude such that the angle between them is 60 and their scalar product is 92

Open in App
Solution

Given:
The vectors a and b have the same magnitude.
|a|=|b|
Also, a.b=92
We know that,
|a|b| cos θ=a.b |a||a| cos 60o=92 [|a|=|b| and a.b=92] |a|2.12=92 |a|2=9 |a|=±3 but we know that magnitude of vector can't be negative|a|=3Hence,|a|=|b|=3
