Open in App
Solution

Compute the required mean:

According to the definition of composite numbers,

Composite numbers can be defined as the product of two positive numbers and composite numbers must have at least one divisor other than 1 and the number itself.

The first five composite numbers are: 4,6,8,9,10.

We know that the formula of the mean can be given as:

Mean=SumofalltheobservationsTotalnumberofobservations

Mean calculation:

Mean=4+6+8+9+105=375=7.4

Hence, the mean of the first five composite numbers is 7.4.
