Let $(x,y)$ be the mid point of given points $(2,7)\equiv (x_1,y_1)$ and $(12,-7)\equiv (x_2,y_2)$

$x=\frac{x_1+x_2}{2}$ , $y=\frac{y_1+y_2}{2}$

$\therefore x=\frac{2+12}{2}$ and $y=\frac{7-7}{2}$

$\therefore x=7$ and $y=0$

$\therefore (7,0)$ is the midpoint.
