Let the common difference for this AP be d and the nth term be an.

We know that the second term in this AP is 3 and the fourth term is -5.

We also know that
a3=a2+d and a2=a1+d
a1=a2d
Given, a2=3 and a4=5
a4=a3+d=a2+d+d=a2+2d
3+2d=5
2d=8
d=4
The first missing term is equal to a2d=3d
=3(4)=7

The second missing term is equal to a2+d=3+d
=3+(4)=1
