Find the missing values:

BaseHeightArea of triangle
15cm 87cm2
31.4mm 1256mm2
22cm 170.5cm2

Open in App
Solution

Compute the height of the triangle.

(i) Given that

Base of triangle =15cm

Area of triangle =87cm2

Since, Area of triangle =12×b×h. That is,

87=12×15×h

h=87×215

h=11.6cm

(ii) Given that

Base of triangle =31.4mm

Area of triangle =1256mm2

That is

1256=12×31.4×h

h=1256×231.4

h=80mm

(iii) Given that

Base of triangle =22cm

Area of triangle =170.5cm2

That is

170.5=12×22×h

h=170.5×222

h=15.5cm

Hence the missing values are 11.6cm,80mm,and 15.5cm respectively.
