Solution

The correct option is C 178 clockwise
Since the prism is thin, angle of deviation due to prism is,
δ1=A(μ1)

Substituting the given data we get,

δ1=4(1.51)=2 clockwise

So ray is incident on the plane mirror at 2.

Angle of deviation due to plane mirror is,
δ2=(1802i)

δ2=(1802×2)=176 clockwise

So, net deviation,

δnet=δ1+δ2=178 clockwise

Hence, option (c) is the correct answer.
Why this Question?

This question will help to understand how to approach a problem having deviation due to the combination of mirror and prism.

Caution:- Direction of deviation is to be noted carefully.
