In the given case, let us find the net force first in vertical direction and then in horizontal direction:
1. 5 N force is acting vertically upward (in direction B) as well as vertically downward (in direction D). The magnitude of these forces is equal, but they are acting in opposite directions. Therefore, force in vertical direction is balanced.
2. In horizontal direction, 10 N force is acting towards A and 12 N force is acting towards C. Thus, net force = 12 N - 10 N = 2 N towards C.
So, the net force acting on helicopter is 2 N in direction C.
