Find the number of parts that are required to be shaded if the shaded region represents the given fractions for each shape.

We need to count the number of parts in each of the shapes.
And then find a quarter, half and three quarters of those numbers.
In (i) shape there are 4 parts
So Shaded parts = 4 ÷ 4 = 1
In (ii) shape there are 6 parts
So Shaded parts = 6 ÷ 2 = 3
In (i) shape there are 8 parts
So Shaded parts = 8 ÷ 4 = 2
= 2 x 3 = 6
