If a2+b2=0
then a=0 and b=0.

Thus in equation (12cosθ)2+(tanθ+3)=0,
(12cosθ)2=0 and
(tanθ+3)=0

For (12cosθ)2=0,
θ=π3&5π3

For (tanθ+3)=0,
θ=2π3&5π3

θ=5π3or360o

Hence the number of solutions to this equation is 1 and answer is A
