Squamous epithelium

Squamous epithelium is a type of epithelial tissue seen in the inner walls of the blood vessels, lungs, heart, and esophagus. Prevents and provides protection from germs, as the epithelium also forms the epidermis of the skin.

Bone, Tendon and Ligament come under connective tissue.

White fibrous tissue.

  1. Tendons are made up of white collagen fibers and are thus called white fibrous tissue.
  2. Connects muscles with bones and connects muscle to muscle.
  3. Have considerable strength and high elasticity

Bone

  1. Bone is a strong, non-flexible connective tissue that is made up of inorganic salts and organic minerals which provide hardness to the bone.
  2. The ground substance or matrix is filled with osteocytes.
  3. The matrix has a central canal called the Haversian canal.
  4. The bone has a hollow cavity with blood vessels called bone marrow.
  5. RBC and WBC are formed from bone marrow.

Yellow fibrous tissue

  1. Ligaments are made up of yellow elastic fibers and are thus called yellow fibrous tissue.
  2. It is found in ligaments that join bones and also in the walls of arteries.
  3. Have great strength and flexibility.
