The first term is -5, the second term is 17, the third term is -27 and the fourth term is 61 .

In this pattern, positive and negative numbers are involved. It means, we have to do multiplication and then addition or subtraction.

First term is -5. Multiply (-5) with (-2) and then add it to 7.

(-5) × (-2) + 7 = 10 + 7 = 17 = second term

Let’s multiply 17 with (-2) and add it 7.

17 × (-2) + 7 = -34 + 7 = -27 = third term.

We can observe that this pattern follows for all the terms. To get the next term, we need to multiply with (-2) and subtract it to 7.

The term after 61 will be

(61) × (-2) + 7 = -122 + 7 = -115.
