Given: Points (2, 5) and (1, -6), Ratio = 2: 1

Let point (x, y) divides the line segment joining the points (2, 5) and (1, -6) in the ratio 2 : 1.

So,
x = (2)(1)+(1)(2)2+1
x = 2+23
​​​​​​​x = 43
​​​​​​​
Similarly,
y = (2)(6)+(1)(5)2+1
y = 12+53
y = 73
Hence, the point is (43, 73)
