Solution

The correct option is B +45 cm

Given,
μ1=1 and μ2=1.5

Radius of curvature, R=6 cm

Object distance, u=20 cm

Using relation between object and image distance for refraction at curved surfaces, μ2vμ1u=μ2μ1RSubstituting the values,

1.5v1(20)=1.51+6

1.5v=112120

v=(12×202012)×1.5

v=45 cm

Hence, option (b) is the correct answer.

Why this question:To understand the relation between image distance & object distancewhen refraction occurs through curved surfaces.
