The correct option is D 6
$x^{2} - 2 x - 24 = x^{2} - 6 x + 4 x - 24 = 0$
$\Rightarrow x (x - 6) + 4 (x - 6) = 0$
$\Rightarrow (x - 6) (x + 4) = 0$
$∴ x = 6, - 4$
As the positive root is asked in the question x = 6 is the correct answer.
