As total resistance of top and bottom branches are equal i.e $(3 + 2) Ω$ so 1 A current will pass though each branches as well as each resistors.
thus, $V_{P} - V_{X} = 2 \times 1 = 2 V . . . (1)$
and $V_{P} - V_{Y} = 3 \times 1 = 3 V . . . (2)$
$(2) - (1) \Rightarrow V_{X} - V_{Y} = 1 V$
