Find the product: (a+2)(a3)(a+4)

Open in App
Solution

The given binomials are (a+2), (a3) and (a+4).

Firstly multiply the first and second term as follows:

(a+2)(a3)(a+4)=[(a×a)+(a×3)+(2×a)+(2×3)](a+4)=(a23a+2a6)(a+4)
=(a2a6)(a+4)

Now multiply the resulting expression:

(a2a6)(a+4)=(a2×a)+(a2×4)+(a×a)+(a×4)+(6×a)+(6×4)
=a3+4a2a24a6a24=a3+3a210a24

Hence, (a+2)(a3)(a+4)=a3+3a210a24.
