By horizontal method:

$$\begin{gathered} (x^2-a^2)\times (x-a) \\ =x^2(x-a)-a^2(x-a) \\ =x^3-a{x}^2-a^{2}x+a^3 \end{gathered}$$
i.e $(x^3+a^3)-ax(x-a)$
