Question

Find the quadratic polynomial, the sum and product of whose zeros are -3 and 2,

Open in App
Solution

Sum of zeroes=-3
product of zeroes=2
Polynomial,p(x)=x^2-(sum of zeroes )x+product of zeroes
=x^2-(-3)x+2

Therefore quadratic polynomial=>x^2+3x+2

we will do middle splitting.
x^2+3x+2=0
On solving

(x+2)(x+1)=0

we will get x=-1,x=-2
