Step 1: Steps for division

1: Divide 4 tens by 2, i.e, 4÷2=2

4 is the multiple of 2,

Write 2 in tens place of quotient and write the product 4 below the tens place of dividend, 4-4=0

2 : Bring down 9

9÷2, which can not be divided

8 is the multiple of 2, which is less than 9

Write 4 in ones place of quotient and write the product 8 below the ones place of dividend, 9-8=1

we get,

TO24249-409-81

Hence, the required quotient is 24 and remainder is 1

Step 2: Verification

Dividend=Divisor×Quotient+Remainder49=2×24+149=48+149=49

Hence, the result is verified.
