Solution

Let us divide 5005 by 2

Step 1 : Divide 5 thousands by 2,

5÷2, Which can not be divided

4 is the multiple of 2,which is smaller than 5

Write 2 in thousands place of quotient and write the product 4 below the thousands place of dividend, 5-4=1

Step 2 : Bring down 0 along with remainder 1

10÷2=5,

10 is the multiple of 2,

Write 5 in hundreds place of quotient and write the product 10 below the hundreds place of dividend, 10-10=0

Step 3 : Bring down 0

0÷2, Which can not be divided

0 is the multiple of 2,

Write 0 in tens place of quotient and write the product 0 below the tens place of dividend, 0-0=0

Step 4 : Bring down 5

5÷2, which can not be divided

4 is the multiple of 2,which is smaller than 5

Write 2 in ones place of quotient and write the product 4 below the ones place of dividend, 5-4=1

we get,

THHTO250225005-410-10000-005-41

Hence, the required quotient is 2502 and remainder is 1

Verification :

Dividend=Divisor×Quotient+Remainder5005=2×2502+15005=5004+15005=5005

Hence, its verified.
